Meet the faces
behind the posts

Hi, my name is Micah Syswerda

I am a junior at Liberty University and planning to pursue a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy hanging out with friends, I am a coffee FANATIC, and you will often find me with candles lit, reading a good book.

Although I never cared to admit it growing up, I once identified with the LGBTQ community. I felt lost and misunderstood until one day, the Lord surrounded me with his love and grace. Struggling to reconcile my sexuality with my newfound faith, I felt I had nowhere to turn, afraid of what others might say. Over the years, I have learned that honesty (with yourself, God, and community) is the only thing that leads to growth and healing.

The hope of this blog is to begin a well-needed conversation, opening the doors so no individual feels unworthy of God's love and to equip Christians to better love others in their homes, their communities, and the world.

Hi everyone! My name is Rachael de Klerk

I am a Liberty student majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a cognate in Global Studies and a minor in Creative Writing.

I am an international student from the beautiful country of South Africa and I love meeting people from all kinds of backgrounds. In the future, I plan on going to medical school and returning home to work as a doctor.

I am a huge bookworm and have been since before I can remember. I also write stories of my own, but I’ve never really shared my own story. It’s time that changed, so here on The Path Toward Holiness, I’ll be going deeper into my personal walk with the Lord and the struggles I’ve faced along the way, as well as exploring some of the hard questions we face as Christians navigating this fallen world.
